SoYoung Lee

Director

SoYoung Lee grew up in Seoul, Korea and graduated from Ewha Woman’s University with B.A in Christian Studies & M.A in Christian Education. She is also a graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX with M.A. in Christian Education, concentration in Childhood Education.

Her calling and passion is to set before each child the “Light of the Word”-who is Jesus-the only one who can save them, guide them, and keep them confident and sure, both now and forever. She joined First Baptist Duluth this summer 2014 and loves to serve the Lord and reach out people in both church and weekday preschool.

SoYoung and her husband K.J. are raising two daughters, Claire and Caitlyne. She enjoys playing piano for her daughters as they play their cello and violin, spending time with her family& friends, organizing, reading, and scrapbooking.

My name is Sarah An. Originally from Ohio, I moved to Georgia in 2001 and attended Atlanta Bible College where I obtained my Associate of Theology Degree. I completed my Child Development Associate (CDA) in Early Childhood Education. I am married and have two children, a girl and a boy. In my free time I love to take walks, swim with my family, cook, bake with my children, read, sing, and vacation at the beach. I love children and believe they are a precious and priceless gift from God!! Children truly brighten our life and bring us joy, smiles, and laughter. I am looking forward to a great school year as we work together as a team investing in our children, learning together, and praying over them!!

My name is Vania Wynn. I grew up in Long Island, NY and attended Nyack College where I obtained a B.S. in Music and Psychology. I also studied Music Therapy at UGA. I met my husband in the Army during my tour in South Korea and now have a wonderful family that strives to love and honor God in all the details of life. I live in Suwanee, GA with my husband, 4 kids, my mom, and my brother. I enjoy serving the Lord, singing in worship to Christ, reading non-fiction, taking walks with the family, and experiencing God’s creation on warm and sunny days. I am a firm believer that our God is a good and loving God whom we can trust no matter the circumstances.

My name is Cathy Howell.  I met Jesus as a child attending a Baptist church in Florida. I grew up there and went to college before getting married and moving to Atlanta. Now I have three children and have been enjoying teaching at Duluth First Baptist Preschool. I have been teaching for twelve years. I believe God has used all the events in my life to lead me to this place, at this time.

My favorite verse is Isaiah 40:31 “Those that wait upon the lord shall rise up on wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, walk and not faint.”

My name is Andrea London and I was born in Gainesville, Fla. I grew up in the metro Atlanta area and had the pleasure of going to Georgia State University where I began studying Early Childhood Education. I have been working with young children for over 10 years, being a Lead Educator and Co-Educator at a few preschools in the Atlanta area. It has always been my passion to assist children with their growth and development and to help them discover a world of possibilities following Jesus Christ. I am a member of The Faith Center in Tucker, Ga and turned my life over to Christ in April of 2012. I am married with 4 children with our home located in Duluth. This school year will be my first at FBCD and I am excited to have a role in the success of our students.

Hello my name is Lynn Kinney, I grew up most of my life in Destin Florida. In 1986 I moved to Georgia with a family I was a nanny for 15 years. When children grew up and moved on I stayed in Georgia. Decided to have a change and worked retail for Parsons for 19 years and then decided that I was ready to get back to what I love most and that’s working with children. I enjoy watching the children explore and learn new songs. My hobbies are scraping booking, cooking, taking my puppies to the park, working with children and going to see a good movie.

My name is Nathalie Gissel Menos. I am originally from Haiti. I am married and have a 10 year old daughter. 

Although I previously had a different professional career, God has now lead me into the education area. I fluently speak Haitian, Creole, French, Spanish, English and  a little Chinese Mandarin.  

My faith in God is strong and I enjoy helping at church. My hobbies include reading, dancing, singing and spending time with my family. I also love dogs!

I look forward to seeing how God will use me in teaching the fours.

physiotherapy in Korea, and now I am studying education. I always think of children as an infinite gift from God. It's difficult, but I'm grateful and it's

I am so proud to be returning to Duluth 1 st Baptist Preschool. I have been teaching in
our community for about 30 years. I enjoy helping others and watching children learn
and grow. I went to Brenau University for my undergraduate degree in education as
well as Reinhardt University for my associate degree in education.
When I’m not teaching I enjoy spending time with my family. Mr. Randy, my husband, and our three adult children Kourtney, Kristi, and Kyle. All three of my children attended Duluth First Baptist Preschool, many years ago. I have three grandchildren, Ali, Henry and Nora who are amazing, and they are also attending school in Marietta, Georgia.
I enjoy volunteering in our community as well as attending church here at Duluth First Baptist.

Hello, My name is Tina. I am originally from Vietnam and I came here from Kentucky. My family and I have moved to Georgia for about 12 years. I have two beautiful daughters named Madelyn and Daviana. When we first moved to Atlanta, I stayed home and was a full time mom for awhile. I really enjoyed my time off from work and watched my children grow. My younger daughter went to school here at First Baptist Church of Duluth preschool. She loved it so much and that inspired me to start working here. I was an assistant teacher for a 3 year old class for about 3 years.
I hold a business degree from Sullivan University in Louisville, KY. I worked for Porter Bancorp Incorporated (PBI bank) online banking company for almost 5 years. I like to learn with the young children and enjoy in teaching. I do believe that the children in their young age are so cute, smart, and unique. They keep me on the move and make my day shine. I look forward to meeting all my students and getting to know the parents too. I am so grateful to be a part of this FBCD preschool’s team!

Hi! I’m Alise. I grew up in Marietta, Georgia and graduated from Georgia State University with a degree in Early Childhood Education. I taught preschoolers and first graders in Athens before beginning our family in 2014. My husband and I have three kids seven and under: Macylee, Nicholas and Susy-Faye. We’re quite a circus! We currently live in Duluth and attend Campus Church in Norcross; we love our community here! Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends (particularly when it involves a table of yummy food), tending to my garden and watercolor painting.

Hello my name is Sherly Setiawan. I am originally from Indonesia. I graduated in Holland University of Applied Sciences in Haarlem, The Netherlands major in Business Management. I lived in the Netherlands for 4 years before I moved to United States in 2005 with my dear husband. My husband and I have been married for 16 years and have three amazing children – Damian (14), Alastair (12) and Genevieve (8). During my free time, I am a DIY enthusiast who love listening to the music, playing piano and enjoy outdoor activity. My firsthand experience with little children came when I was a Stay- at home mom with my kids. They gave me so much joy and brighten my life.

Originally from Surabaya, Indonesia Julie has lived in the U.S. since 1999 and resided in Gwinnett County since 2001.   Married to Andy, Julie is the mother to two children, Sydney and Mason. They both attended FBCD preschool. Julie has been working as assistant teacher since 2014, and this year will be serving as an assistant teacher in 4’s class. Julie has adjusted nicely to life in the South and become a fan of southern food and sports including the Braves, Falcons, Bama and FSU.
