I am married to my wonderful husband Mike. We have 7 grandchildren whom we love so dearly Elizabeth, David, Michael, Benjamin, Hagen, Henlee and Carson. Being a Nah Nah is the abpsolute best and it is one of my favorite titles!

We moved from Cumming, GA to Duluth 3 years ago. I worked at a wonderful Christian Academy where I was the Kindergarten Co-Teacher for 4 years. Prior to that I was a paraprofessional for 5 years working with special needs children in preschool. I attended Liberty University for 2 years studying Early Childhood Education. I believe God gives each of us a gift and mine is with teaching children; they teach me as much as I teach them and I feel blessed for the gift God as given me.

I love my  family so much and try to see and spend time with them at every opportunity. I love to craft, smile and just enjoy this life I was so very blessed with.

I can’t express the gratitude and excitement that I have to be able to teach at Duluth Baptist Preschool. Gods hands where all over this and I am forever grateful for this opportunity!

“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace”.

Lucy Hwang

O2Y3's Assit Teacher

Hello. My name is Lucy Hwang. I am originally from South Korea and came to the U.S. in October of 2018. I studied Early Childhood Special Education in Korea, then went to the U.K. to build up my teaching experience. In the U.K. I volunteered and worked at a Camphill community which is a school and home for special needs children. This is where I earned a diploma in curative education. During my 4 years at Camphill, children taught me that we are teachers for each other; they led me to learn what love, trust, friendship, perseverance, and truth are. I am married with no kids yet, but because of those experiences, I know that I have found an unexpected treasure trove of truth and delight in children!  Just before moving to U.S., we lived in Nepal for over 6 years. Those years gave me the richest life experience ever as I met God once again, but this time with all my heart. God is living a God! He is the peace, joy, and love that everyone is looking for!
